Barcelona have identified Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rúben Neves as one of the options for their midfield, along with AS Monaco’s Aurélien Tchouaméni and Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi.
Sport have come up with a report on the Portugal international and another player.
This may bring some relief for Wolves since the Catalan club have been offered a chance to sign Palmeiras’ Danilo. The 21-year-old, who has made it to Tite’s Brazil squad for the upcoming friendlies, is ready to make a jump to Europe in the summer.
He is managed by Kia Joorabichian and Giuliano Bertolucci. The two have good ties with the Blaugrana, having negotiated Philippe Coutinho’s sale to Aston Villa.
Xavi Hernández’s side have closely observed the Brazilian in action for Palmeiras but have not yet made a final decision on him. Danilo, meanwhile, is also on the agenda of other clubs.
Sport state the Wolves star is the first name on Barca technical secretary’s list. His signing is the ‘most feasible option’ for the Spanish giants, if Neves’ asking price is compared to that of Tchouaméni and Zubimendi. In addition to this, Bruno Lage’s man, who is valued at €60m, is ‘very much to the liking’ of Xavi.
Danilo, who has been offered to Barcelona, would cost between €20m and €25m, and this price is ‘more suitable’ for their ‘reality’ [economic conditions]. Should he arrive at the Camp Nou, it would allow him to be back-up to Sergio Busquets.
The Brazilian’s asking price, age and profile could make him a better value option than Neves. He has already been offered to Barcelona, but it needs to be seen whether they push to sign the Wolves player or make an effort to take Danilo.
