Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raúl Jiménez has insisted his recovery from his latest injury is going well and he is hopeful of things continuing to progress positively.
The Wolves forward is currently in Mexico recovering from an injury that has seen him miss the start of the Premier League season.
He’s since been diagnosed with pubalgia, with it explained that Wolves are working alongside the Mexican medical team to solve the issue ahead of the World Cup.
A further diagnosis is expected in 15 days, at which point the rush will be on for the striker to get fit ahead of the winter tournament in Qatar.
The situation is covered by Noticiero and Tiempo today, with the Wolves striker commenting on his recovery to the latter.
The first explains that Jiménez was recently at former club CF America, where he was filmed walking through corridors of the sports facilities he used to train in.
During that trip he was asked various questions, including about his current recovery, during which he stated: “It was my turn to be here today. I’m doing my rehabilitation.”
Noticiero follow that up with more in-depth quotes given to TUDN, where he insisted that things are going well, and he is positive about the future.
“Happy, excited, things are going well and fortunately we are doing well, and we hope to continue like this,” they quote him saying, adding that he did so ‘showing optimism’.
They add that is it ‘expected’ that the striker will be ‘fit to attend’ the World Cup and should therefore be a part of Gerardo Martino’s 26-man squad when that is announced in the coming weeks.
Positive news from Mexico, then, with Jiménez and the rest of the country seemingly positive about his recovery.
