Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fábio Silva learned ‘this week’ that PSV Eindhoven do not want him, and he will be returning to Molineux next months.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, who say the striker ‘had not heard anything’ about a possible exit until this week.
The newspaper explains that PSV are finalising their transfer plans with manager Peter Bosz, whose signature was secured this week.
Now that that is done, they are keen to get to work shaping the squad for next season but loanee Silva will not be a part of it.
He arrived from Wolves in the January transfer and proved to be a big hit under Ruud van Nistelrooy and there had been talk that the Dutch club would either look at a permanent deal or another loan for next season.
Silva was keen for either to happen after struggling at Wolves since his arrival in September 2020, but PSV have elected against either and informed him of their plans this week.
According to the newspaper, they are ‘looking at other options’ and would prefer to sign someone on a permanent basis and ‘try to build up transfer value’ rather than loaning someone in.
Thus, they have elected not to extend their relationship with Silva, and he will be returning to Wolves to bolster their now packed forward line.
