Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva has insisted he never thinks about his €40m price tag.

The youngster joined Wolves in the high-profile move back in September but has endured a difficult two years at Molineux since then.

He’s managed just four goals and six assists in 62 games in that time, struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo and his predecessor Bruno Lage.

That has caused plenty of criticism given the figure Wolves paid to sign him, a deal that many believe was nowhere near a good one.

That’s been proven by his performances, although according to the 20-year-old, it’s not something he thinks about personally.

“I try not to focus too much on that amount,” he told Het Niuewsblad, relayed by Voetbal Primeur.

“I never told Wolves: You have to pay that much for me. They paid that amount because they wanted to. So when I’m on the pitch, I don’t think about that price tag.”

This season will see Silva playing on loan at Anderlecht, having elected to move to Belgium in search of regular playing time.

He will be hoping to kickstart his career in the Jupiler Pro League and get back on track after a difficult two years with Wolves.

There is certainly a precedent for him to do so, with Anderlecht having seen several young strikers, such as Joshua Zirkzee and Lukas Nmecha, flourish while on loan in recent years.

Silva is hoping to do the same and highlights those, and others, as examples he is looking to follow this year.

“When I heard that a loan move was a possibility, Anderlecht was my first choice”, he added.

“If you see who all broke through here… The last few years, guys like Zirkzee and Nmecha, but also Lukaku and Dendoncker in the past.

“But I honestly don’t feel any pressure. You feel pressure when you are a father and cannot feed your children.”
