Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina is expected to arrive in Istanbul at 7pm this evening ahead of a move to Galatasaray.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who reports that the midfielder, who says the midfielder initially caught a flight to Prague before heading to Turkey.
Lemina has been linked with a move away from Wolves throughout the January transfer window after falling out under previous manager Gary O’Neil.
That set him on the path to leaving Molineux in this window, with O’Neil’s replacement Vitor Pereira later confirming that the midfielder wanted to depart. He then stated that Lemina would not feature for him while the window was open.
A move to Saudi Arabia had been on the cards but a report earlier this week stated a deal with Galatasaray was now on the cards. Wolves had agreed a deal for him, with an agreement on payment terms required before it could go through.
It appears that has now been achieved as Sabuncuoğlu reports that Lemina is set to arrive in Istanbul at 7pm. According to him, the plane taking him to Türkiye initially travelled to Prague.
Why that is the case isn’t mentioned but it appears he’s on his way to Istanbul either way to finalise his exit from Wolves in the coming days.
