On Wednesday, Het Laatste Nieuws stated Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Fábio Silva is not motivated to continue at Anderlecht.

The Jupiler Pro League side took the striker on loan from Wolves. He has 11 goals and four assists this season, out of which nine goals and two assists came under Felice Mazzù, who was sacked last October.

Brian Riemer was appointed as Mazzù’s successor and the Wolves owned player has struggled under the former’s orders, so much so that he wants to leave Anderlecht in January.

Walfoot state the Portugal U21 international was not in the squad to face Zulte Waregem on Wednesday as he ‘refused to play’.

Silva has also cleared his locker at the club because he has ‘decided to force his departure’ this month.

All parties hope a solution can be found in the winter market and that Wolves recall Silva.

If not, the attacker will either be demoted to Anderlecht’s B team or he has to spend the second half of the season in the stands.

Anderlecht suffered a 2-3 defeat against Zulte Waregem and after the tie, Riemer was asked whether Silva will return to the squad.

“I will not talk about Fabio Silva now. I made the right selection for Zulte Waregem: 19 guys who want to give their blood and life for Anderlecht. They belong to our core,” Het Nieuwsblad quoted Riemer as saying.
