Wolverhampton Wanderers have made Toulouse forward Zakaria Aboukhlal their ‘priority’ this month as they continue to strengthen their squad.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report that Aboukhlal ‘could quickly move’ this month after impressing in France.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed an excellent start to the season, contributing greatly to Toulouse currently sitting in eight in Ligue 1 with six goals and two assists.

Wolves have taken notice of the Moroccan international’s performances and put him at the top of their list of targets.

They are determined to strengthen themselves offensively this month, particularly with a right winger, and are following the Toulouse star ‘very closely’. They’re hoping to secure a move this month and ‘attract’ him to the Premier League.

Wolves like that he can play all across the front three, valuing that versatility as they look to bolster Vitor Pereira’s options.

FM make no mention of the fee they’d be looking to pay for the forward, although the fact his contract expires in 2026 could play a big role in that. It means this window could be the last in which Toulouse can make a significant profit on him. He cost €2m to sign from AZ Alkmaar in July 2022.

That’s to be worked out but Wolves are keen and he’s a name to keep an eye on for the remainder of the January transfer window.
