Following The Telegraph’s report saying Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Valencia right-back Thierry Correia, the Spanish and the Portuguese media are reacting to it today.
Valencia newspaper Super Deporte brings their own take, and they don’t believe that a transfer is close to happening.
They say there have been no offers for the 21-year-old so far, regardless of it being a hot-topic on social media.
This is just a small, but dismissive, mention they give to the rumour, and there are no more details on how open Valencia would be to his sale this summer.
Meanwhile, the rumour is highlighted by Portuguese outlet Record as well. They say Nuno Espírito Santo is considering the 21-year-old as a possible replacement for Matt Doherty.
The outlet doesn’t make it clear is this is their own information or if it’s coming from somewhere else, but since this is a Portuguese manager trying to sign a Portuguese player, we may soon have some interesting claims coming from the country.
Valencia spent €12m to sign Thierry Correia from Sporting last summer, but he was kept on the bench for most of the time, having made only seven appearances for the Spanish club so far.
That figure seems somewhat inflated, as it did at the time.
