Wolverhampton Wanderers have placed a bid for the signing of Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati, the Catalan media says.
Sport reveals that Wolves made a formal offer which was delivered by agent Jorge Mendes to the Camp Nou side.
According to the story, Wolverhampton’s bid is of €30m plus the transfer of Ruben Neves, who reportedly already has an agreement with Barcelona.
Sport claims that Barça are currently ‘studying the proposal’, but everything is actually in Fati’s hands.
This week, several reports from the Spanish media claimed that Jorge Mendes arrived in Barcelona to discuss the youngster’s future, as he’s expected to leave the Camp Nou this summer.
It had already been said that the agent would try to move him to the Premier League.
They state that even though Wolves are not a top club, the representative believes they could be a first step for Fati in the Premier League, but the player isn’t convinced yet, with his father claiming he’d actually rather stay at Barça.
The La Liga giants, however, need money, and are ‘interested’ in listening to the offer.
They haven’t spoken to the youngster yet, but it’s ‘very likely’ that Xavi will tell him at the end of the season that he’s not expected to have many chances at the club in the future, which could definitely help Wolves in their quest.
