Loaned to Anderlecht for the season, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Fabio Silva is getting the game time he wouldn’t have received under Bruno Lage at Molineux.

With 1665 minutes already under his belt, the Wolves striker has found the back of the net nine times in 22 appearances as well as picking up two assists.

His performances, which have ranged from him being excellent to invisible are the perfect example of a young player who is still trying to find his feet, and despite two goals in his last four games, the Portuguese forward was unable to save Felice Mazzu from getting sacked at Anderlecht.

This comes after the recent game against Standard Liege was abandoned after Anderlecht fans threw flares on the pitch, as their team were losing 3-1.

This leaves Silva in a similar situation to Wolves as a whole, since the Premier League side have yet to find a replacement for Lage after deciding to get rid of him.

Attempts to sign the likes of Julen Lopetegui and Michael Beale haven’t worked out the way they were hoping for, leaving them with little choice by stick with caretakers for the time being.

As for Silva and Anderlecht, they will be hoping to find someone to steer them back in the right direction sooner rather than later, with a preference for someone who can get the 20-year-old on loan from Wolves to score regularly.
