Ki-Jana Hoever moved from Ajax to Liverpool in 2018 but was unable to make any mark at Anfield, and was eventually sold to Wolves in 2020.
Bruno Lage’s side paid a fee approaching £10m for the defender, however, he failed to impress for Wolves, and the Premier League club sent him on loan to PSV this summer.
There was quickly criticism in the Netherlands of his level, and doubt over whether the move would really work out for the Dutch club. Things have now taken a turn for the worse, and it won’t be news that Wolves want to hear.
ED.nl report that Hoever has been dropped from the squad set to travel to face Rangers in a Champions League qualifier this week. PSV coaches are ‘dissatisfied’ with the Wolves player’s ‘sporting development’ and decided not to include him for the trip.
Instead, he’s been sent to Jong PSV to improve his fitness, in a clear message to the player. There’s doubt over whether he’ll be able to win his place back in the senior side, and the 20-year-old’s loan continues to wobble.
