Leicester City could be set to rival Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Palhinha this summer.
That’s according to A Bola, who back up claims from England that Foxes are keen on the sporting star.
Reports in England have indicated that Leicester are focusing in on the 25-year-old as they improve their squad this summer.
A Bola now back that up and state that, as they have reported in the past, Leicester have already ‘expressed’ an interest in the midfielder.
He has ‘many suitors’ in the Premier League, including Wolves, who ‘expressed their interest’ last summer and maintained that for this year.
They have the ‘majority slice of the investment’ needed to make in him and are ‘positioning themselves’ for the player.
But they will have competition from the Foxes, who English reports state will advance with a proposal sooner rather than later.
Sporting are not keen on a sale, and coach Rúben Amorim considers him ‘untouchable’. In that sense, they are wanting to ‘secure’ him to a new deal to ward off interest.
However, the club’s administration will not be able to refuse any talks around €30m, a price Wolves have been thinking about, and Leicester are ‘in a position’ to offer as well.
