For the past couple of days, we’ve been covering the strong rumours from Portugal which said Wolverhampton Wanderers are close on signing Braga striker Paulinho.

Now we don’t want to confuse you, but the Premier League side seem to be interested in another Portuguese player who also played for Braga this season and has a very similar name.

João Palhinha was loaned by Sporting to Braga at the start of the season, and his spell at the club is expiring today. According to A Bola, the Lions aren’t keen on keeping him, so he should be changing clubs again this summer.

The newspaper writes that Wolves are the ‘main interested side’, as they’d sign Palhinha as a back-up for Ruben Neves.

It’s said Sporting are looking to sell Palhinha for at least €10m this summer. It’s unlikely the Lions would give much of a discount, since Braga still have the right to 15% of a transfer fee.

A Bola claims Real Betis have made an approach for Palhinha’s transfer as well, his but destination has already been ‘chosen’, and it’s England.

However, even though the report is pretty sure the midfielder is moving to the country, they still can’t be sure it’s the Molineux side who’ll land the player.
