Wolverhampton Wanderers are chasing Stade Rennais’ Christopher Wooh, according to Africa Foot.

The centre-back played just over 1,500 minutes from 21 games in the recently concluded season and his role has been restricted since the Ligue 1 club signed Lilian Brassier in January.

Ouest-France report Stade Rennais are not counting on Wooh, but make no mention of Wolves or any other club.

Africa Foot also say the 23-year-old is ‘unwanted’ at the French club and Wolves can offer him an escape route.

They report Vítor Pereira’s side ‘are in negotiations’ with the Cameroon international over a potential move to Molineux. With Stade Rennais looking to get rid of Wooh, he could be in favour of joining the Premier League club.

They further add Wolves are expected to table an initial proposal close to €5m for the defender. During their discussions with his club, Africa Foot suspect Stade Rennais could request for more money to sanction his sale.

There’s no mention of their request, but it may not be too far from what the English club are expected to propose in their initial offer.

Trabzonspor are also in the picture to sign Wooh but haven’t submitted a bid to sign him yet.
