Wolverhampton Wanderers have made an attempt to sign Sevilla’s Isaac Romero in the summer window, according to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC.

The striker has managed six goals and four assists from 16 games since he was promoted to the Spanish club’s first team at the start of this year.

Wolves have tried to tempt the 24-year-old to join them this summer.

Last month, the Spaniard committed his long-term future to the La Liga side by signing a deal until 2028. The report claims it includes a €30m release clause.

Prior to Romero signing a new contract, Gary O’Neil’s side made a firm approach to secure his services. It’s claimed there was a ‘very important offer’ to Sevilla from Wolves, who have also proposed a higher salary than what he currently earns.

The attacker has never considered leaving the Andalusian club and his plan is to continue with them, probably for at least one more season.

Romero believes he could still have an opportunity to earn a big contract elsewhere in the future if he were to impress at Sevilla next season.

Taking all these into consideration, the player has rejected Wolves’ important offer.
