Wolverhampton Wanderers have ‘entered the fray at the last minute’ for Real Betis winger Jesús Rodríguez.

That’s according to El Desmarque, who report that the 19-year-old’s future could be resolved sooner rather than later.

They explain that Rodríguez has accepted that he needs to move on from Betis if he is continue his development. That has led Betis to take the step towards accepting offers for their player.

Italian side Como have contacted the winger directly to convince him that their project is the ideal one. Negotiations between the two clubs are not yet close to completion.

That’s given Wolves the chance to put themselves into the mix. They have ‘entered the fray at the last minute’ and inquired about the conditions of a possible transfer. As a result, at this moment in time Como, Aston Villa and Wolves are the three sides in the mix.

If there are no other suitors who step forwards in the coming weeks, Rodríguez will end up at one of these clubs.

Wolves are looking for a left winger to bolster their squad and so have recently contacted Betis to explore the situation. Betis are confident of closing a deal worth around €25m. They would also like to include a percentage of a future transfer or the player’s rights.

Rodríguez is determined to leave Betis this summer, though, and Wolves are now in the race and asking about him.
