Wolves ‘going for’ player – ‘Pushing’ to secure deal, talks ‘progressing well’

Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘going for’ Jason Denayer following positive talks with the player last night.

That’s according to journalists Sacha Tavolieri and Pieter Jan-Calcoen, who say that negotiations are ‘progressing well’.

Denayer is currently a free agent after leaving Lyon at the end of last season and has been linked with clubs around Europe since that point.

It appeared he was close to a return to Belgium, but it seems Wolves have now stepped up to try and secure his signature.

Tavolieri reports that they are ‘going for’ the defender and talks ‘advanced well’ last night, reaching the point that there is an agreement in principle in place on a three-year deal, ready to be signed in the next 24 hours.

Jan-Calcoen backs this up, stating that talk of Wolves being interested is true and they are ‘pushing’ to secure the 27-year-old.

He states that while several teams have made an effort in recent weeks none of them came to an agreement but talks with Bruno Lage’s side are ‘progressing well’ and a deal could be wrapped up quickly as a result.
