Rafa Mir’s move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Sevilla will cost the Spanish side around €15m.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say Sevilla will initially pay €12m to sign the Spanish forward with the extra €3m coming in ‘variables’ which are ‘easier to fulfil than others’.
Mir has been heavily linked with a return to Spain this summer after his impressive performances for Huesca last season and at the Olympic Games, which followed.
It appeared he would be moving to Atlético Madrid, but Sevilla have instead raced to the front of the queue, and it’s believed a deal will be done within the next 24 hours.
Various reports from Spain today have had the price at different prices, with Wolves getting €15m, €16m and €17m depending on which outlet you listened to.
The latter seemed unlikely given Sevilla’s determination to get a bargain, and Estadio Deportivo confirm as much.
According to their information, the initial deal will see Sevilla pay €12m with €3m added on for various things, although they do not make clear what those are.
We assume it will have something to do with goals scored, appearances or even European qualification, as they’re the usual objectives set in these sort of deals.
Mir, meanwhile, will sign a five-year deal at his new club and finally bring an end to his four-year spell with Wolves.
