According to a claim in the Dutch media, Wolverhampton Wanderers are still in the race to sign Ajax attacker Carlos Forbs.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League side this summer, but they face competition from Lyon.
Voetbal international have reported on the latest developments regarding Wolves’ pursuit for Forbs and they say the English side have made an offer for the youngster.
It’s reported Wolves have reacted to Lyon’s bid of €15m for the winger, but there are no reports what the west Midland club have tabled. Voetbal International explain Wolves dithered with their approach, initially going through intermediaries before really jumping into action when they found out about Lyon’s offer.
VI believe Ajax are willing to accept both offers so the final decision will come down to the player. Reports in England have stated he’s keen on Wolves.
With Daniel Podence on the verge of signing for Al-Shabab and Pedro Neto joining Chelsea earlier in the window, Wolves are keen to strengthen in the attacking wide areas before tonight’s deadline.
Forbs made 32 appearances for Ajax last season, scoring three goals. He’s contracted to the Amsterdam club until June 2028.
