While most of the transfer rumours surrounding Wolverhampton Wanderers have emanated from either Portugal or Italy these past few weeks, we’re now bringing you a bit of a different one, this time from France.

The player in question is Strasbourg’s Jean-Eudes Aholou, who captained the side to a 15th place finish in their return to Ligue 1 last season, and who has previously attracted interest from the Premier League.

Back in March, Le10 Sport stated Brighton were keeping an eye on the midfielder, but no move was made, with the club eventually buying Yves Bissouma from Lille.

Well, the same outlet believe Wolves have taken their place, but they aren’t the favourites to land the 24-year-old.

Out in front are AS Monaco and Lyon, who are both said to have made bids of €10-15m for Aholou, with the former of the pair said to be preparing a new move.

Tagging along behind them are Wolves, stated as being on the bottom step of the podium.

However, the Premier League side’s appeal (we’re guessing financial) is seen as dangerous for the Ligue 1 pair, even if they can both offer Champions League football to the midfielder next season.

One to keep an eye on, but we wouldn’t get too excited about this just yet.
