Wolverhampton Wanderers have been thrown into the mix to sign Real Madrid’s Mariano Díaz in the summer.

The forward is set to leave the La Liga side when his contract with them expires at the end of next month. AS state he has received several offers from other European leagues but his priority is to continue in Spain.

This report is relayed by Mundo Deportivo, who then provide their own information on this case, which is when Wolves get a mention.

It’s claimed the Premier League side have ‘appeared’ as the option for the 29-year-old.

Julen Lopetegui has been in charge at the Molineux since the end of last year and knows the player well from his time at Real Madrid. In fact, it was the current Wolves manager who signed Mariano for Los Blancos in 2018.

Mundo add Lopetegui could ‘meet again’ with his former player in the summer, if Wolves manage to secure the attacker’s services for free.

Mariano is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks.
