Wolverhampton Wanderers are a ‘wildcard’ option for Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, with the Catalan club desperately trying to get rid of him.
That’s according to Sport, who report Barcelona are hoping to close a loan deal for Fati after he spent last year on loan at Brighton.
The newspaper reports that Barcelona are obligated to get players out of the squad so they can register new signings and Fati is one of the player they want to move on as soon as possible.
Wolves are one of them and have made it clear they are ‘interested’ in Fati, who would be made available on loan with a potential purchase option so long as any club cover as much of his salary as possible.
A move to Molineux would be the ‘wildcard’ option for Fati at this moment in time, with Sevilla, Benfica and Marseille also in the mix.
Of course, Mendes has a close relationship with Wolves and is known to have some influence at the club, with them having regularly ‘served as a showcase’ for his clients in recent years.
Whether that gives Wolves an advantage remains to be seen but they’re in the mix nonetheless and Barcelona are accelerating their efforts to move the player on.
