Even though Sporting seem to be glad to have found a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the transfer of Rui Patrício, there’s still a negative topic pointed out by the Portuguese press today.
As reported by newspaper A Bola, the Lions couldn’t guarantee a percentage of a future transfer, as they normally do when selling their talents.
The worry from A Bola is because they’ve been seeing rumours linking Rui Patrício with a transfer away from Wolves, even though nothing has been published in Portugal about it yet.
With Wolves paying €20m for Patrício now (reported as €18m elsewhere), it’s very likely they would make a profit with a theoretical sale, as the goalkeeper was quick to prove himself in the Premier League.
Earlier today, it was revealed that Patrício has given up €5m from a signing bonus at Wolves, just to make sure the Premier League side would agree a fee with Sporting afterwards.
