Serie A side Bologna are eyeing up a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Patrick Cutrone, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina.
That’s according to Il Resto del Carlino, relayed by Labaro Viola, who say the Wolves player is on the club’s shortlist as they look for a striker to boost Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad.
Cutrone has been on loan with Fiorentina since January after a short and unsuccessful spell at Wolves following a move from AC Milan.
That loan deal includes a purchase option for the Italian side, but there has been debate about whether they would want to take it up.
Indeed, it’s believed that Fiorentina’s new boss Cesare Prandelli was tasked with working out whether Cutrone is worth €15-16m clause that will become active after a certain amount of games.
That’s a decision that may now be taken out of his hands if Bologna make their move, with it stated that Cutrone is one of two options, alongside Dusan Vlahovic, that they are looking at.
The big issue, of course, is that Cutrone is on loan at Fiorentina until next summer, meaning there would have to be some sort of deal struck.
That could suit Wolves down to the ground, though, as they may be about to go from having one club questioning a transfer to one very much keen on one.
