Already somewhat criticised for having a very Portuguese squad, Wolverhampton Wanderers don’t appear to be ready to stop there either.

That’s what Calciomercato would have you believe on Sunday evening, reporting on their website that Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are ‘thinking’ about making a move for Lille’s Renato Sanches, who has found a new lease of life in the north of France.

An integral plan of Christophe Galtier’s plans, the midfielder has put his Bayern Munich and Swansea disappointments behind him, and, should this ring true, a move to Molineux would give him a chance to have his revenge on all those who criticised him during his time at Liberty Stadium.

It all sounds very plausible, what with him being managed by Jorge Mendes, Portuguese, an international and wanted by Wolves, but it’s worth pointing out, before everyone gets carried away, how short the article is by Calciomercato.

It’s one sentence and three lines long, and doesn’t really offer much information, meaning there’s little chance of this being anything overly concrete for now, as they tend to include all the details when they have them.

If the Italian website has a lot to say, then it normally does, suggesting this is either something they’ve seen and are relaying quickly, or they’ve just heard a tidbit of information and are simply putting it out there in the transfer rumour ether.

Either way, until there’s something more serious than this, we recommend not getting too excited just yet.
