When Wolverhampton Wanderers started being linked to Benfica’s Rafa Silva, it really sounded like a very likely transfer for the January window.
The midfielder isn’t getting enough game time in Lisbon, and considering the success of Portuguese players in the Championship side, it seemed like a loan deal would be good for all involved.
There was also the fact that there weren’t other clubs said to be interested in him at that time, so the lack of competition was helping Wolves as well.
But now after a few weeks of silence, it seems that things won’t be so easy for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side to get the player.
Newspaper O Jogo has a story on his situation today, and claims that there’s the interest from China and from Turkish side Besiktas.
Wolves don’t even get a mention this time, which probably means that the interest has gone cold for now.
His playing situation remains the same, as he had only 11 minutes in the last 7 league games. It’s pretty clear that Benfica will allow him to go on loan in the January window, and as the list of interested clubs seems to be finally growing, there will be a few options on the table.
But will the Wolves still be in the battle?
