Earlier on Wednesday, we covered the latest regarding Rui Patricio and his potential move to AS Roma.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper has become a prime target for the Serie A side, who are in desperate need of a better shot stopper after losing faith in Pau Lopez.

Getting someone in was one of their priorities going into the summer, and it appears Patricio is the man they have chosen.

A report from Corriere dello Sport suggested things were being put on hold to see if they could find someone younger, while Calciomercato.it believed things were going to accelerate in the next few days, prior to the start of the Euros.

Well, Calciomercato (the .com one) now have their own update, claiming that José Mourinho has made his choice, and he wants the Wolves man.

The Molineux side value their player at around €12m, which AS Roma don’t want to touch and have, for now, ‘made a lower offer of around €7-8m’.

It’s stated ‘the negotiation is open’ and the Italians are ‘optimistic about the affair going through’.

As for the Wolverhampton player in all this, he ‘cannot wait to try a new experience’, especially under the ‘most famous of Portuguese coaches’.

After the Euros, he will ‘push for the transfer to the capital’, and the Premier League side ‘know this’, already working on a replacement: José Sà of Olympiakos.
