For the first time in a very long time, Newcastle will not be attending a Bordeaux game, at least not officially, according to Girondins4Ever, presumably sick of watching Francois Kamano, having done so at least three times in the past month already.
One club who will be at the Ligue 1 club’s next game on Wednesday night against Saint-Etienne is Wolverhampton, who are also starting to become regulars at the Matmut Atlantique these last few weeks.
If our records are correct, and we like to think we keep mostly on top of things, this will be the third time since November 12th, suggesting one or more of their 2019 targets is at the French club.
We’ve listed the potential candidates before, but we’ll do it again for the sake of saving you clicking on a link (it’s a tough ask, we know) or trawling through our previous articles.
The aforementioned François Kamano is the prime target here, since he’s been Bordeaux’s best attacking threat (10 goals in 25 appearances + two assists), but young 18-year-old Aurélien Tchouameni, who’s becoming a regular in midfield is also a likely option.
We’d say strikers, since Wolverhampton have been struggling for goals and have allegedly taken an interest in Emiliano Sala, but we doubt they’ll be too keen on two goal Andreas Cornelius or veteran forward Jimmy Briand.
In defence, the standout has been 20-year-old Jules Koundé, who has been ever-present in Ligue 1 this season, missing just two games this year altogether.
