A recurring story ever since José Mourinho took over at AS Roma, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rui Patricio’s potential transfer to the Serie A side appears to be edging towards completion.
At least, that’s what Calciomercato will have you believe on Monday, as they explain the player is ‘getting closer’ to the club.
‘Helped’ by his agent, Jorge Mendes, and ‘rated’ by Mourinho, the Wolves goalkeeper would also allow the young Daniel Fuzato to grow some more in the background.
Those are all the ‘motives’ that are pushing Roma to move for the veteran shot stopper, and the player ‘will meet Tiago Pinto in the next few days and should find an agreement’ with the Serie A side.
Both Wojciech Szczesny and Gianluigi Donnarumma are too expensive, but if Patricio’s move does fail, the back up option would be Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris.
Some of this is also corroborated by Calciomercato.it (a different website), who stated on Sunday evening that ‘new contacts’ were set to take place between all parties, as the Wolves man ‘wants his future sorted quickly’.
It appears this could all be coming to an end in the near future if all goes to plan, then.
