Unfortunately, it appears that we cannot go a whole 24 hours without some kind of report involving AS Roma and Rui Patrício.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper continues to be touted as the favourite for the role at the Italian club going forward, with José Mourinho hoping Jorge Mendes can do him a solid and sign the 34-year-old.
Tiago Pinto, the Portuguese general director in charge of transfers at the Serie A side, has also been working towards getting a deal done, and the longer this goes on for, the more Patrício seems to be interested.
The details published by Corriere dello Sport in their report on Friday are relatively similar to those previously covered, in that a fee of €10m should be enough to convince Wolves to part ways with their number one.
However, what appears to have changed, or at least what is now being reported on, is the former Sporting CP’s stance on the matter.
Down his end, Corriere state the shot stopper is ‘ready for Italy’ and is ‘taking into consideration the idea of another adventure abroad, in an important club where the arrival of Mourinho has confirmed their high grade ambitions’.
That sounds like Patrício wouldn’t be against a transfer if the offer came in, and that’s something we’ll be keeping an eye on going forward.
