Loaned to Sevilla for the season after a rather tepid first season at Milan, André Silva got off to the best possible start in Spain back in 2018.
Scoring seven goals in his first seven league games, the idea of making the move permanent for €38m was already on everyone’s lips, largely putting the loose speculation about a future move to Wolves to one side, but things quickly took a turn for the worse.
Since then, the 23-year-old has scored two in his other 22 La Liga appearances, and Sevilla are now very skeptical about spending such a large portion of their budget on the Portugal international.
In fact, according to AS in Spain, Jorge Mendes has started to look around Europe to see where his client could end up, since a return to Milan, where Krzysztof Piatek and Patrick Cutrone stand in his way, appears to be on the cards.
Calciomercato, who cover the Italian side of the story, explain that the three easy options for Mendes would be Valencia, Monaco and Wolves, a trio of clubs where he has held some influence over transfers in the past.
At this stage, it’s easily just a case of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side being linked for the sake of it, as we all know they have a very soft spot for Raul Jimenez, and that’s where a chunk of their transfer budget is likely going to go in the near future.
So if you see any articles involving Andre Silva and Wolves, this is how they started.
