Laurent Koscielny is set to sign a new three year contract at Arsenal, reports L’Equipe on Friday.
The French newspaper say that with the new deal Koscielny would stay at Arsenal until 2020, and go over a decade with the London club.
It’s been reported everything hasn’t been completely agreed yet, but both the parties are very close, and an official announcement could be made before Arsenal face Paris-Saint Germain next week.
To be clear, L’Equipe say it could all be sorted out ‘within a few days’.
Koscielny will become one of the highest paid players at Arsenal with the new deal, just behind Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. The French international has started the new season in impressive form, and it only makes sense to reward him with a new deal.
Earlier this year Koscielny was linked with a move away from the club, but none of the reports really had anything concrete, and were simply a reflection of what other clubs needed at the time.
Koscielny arrived at Arsenal in 2010 from Ligue 1 club Lorient in a €12.m deal, and has made 262 appearances so far for the Gunners.
