As Lucas Moura can’t hide the love he has for his former club São Paulo, the Tottenham Hotspur winger continues being frequently linked to a return to the Brazilian club.

Just last week, journalist Jorge Nicola cleared up the recent rumours.

The reporter got in touch with Lucas’ agent, Pedro Pedroso, who claimed the player isn’t keen on leaving Spurs for now. And the main reason for that was the amount of playing time he had been having under Nuno Espírito Santo.

Well, a lot happened at the club in the past few days, and with Antonio Conte’s arrival, it now looks like there’s no such certainty about the Brazilian’s future in north London.

As Nicola released a new video with transfer updates, he now claims that the new manager’s arrival could ‘move’ with the winger’s situation.

It’s recalled that Moura used to be an ‘absolute starter’ under Nuno Espírito Santo. Now in case he doesn’t get as many minutes under Conte, then São Paulo’s mission to bring him back to his home country would be ‘facilitated’.

Of course it all sounds speculative for now, but since it comes from a journalist who has frequent contact with the player’s entourage, it’s worth taking it seriously.

Currently with one goal and one assist in 13 appearances this season, Moura has a contract with Tottenham until 2024.
