Queens Park Rangers have joined the chase for Axel Urie, according to France Football.
The 21-year-old arrived at Ligue 2 side Guingamp from Nîmes last summer and has been part of their reserve squad.
Urie has been featuring in Championnat National 2 (the fourth division of the French football) this season, managing two goals and eight assists in 14 appearances.
According to the report, the winger’s contract with his current employer expires this summer.
Guingamp’s idea is to tie Urie down to a new deal and they’ve already offered him an extension. However, it won’t be easy to secure his future because of interest from other clubs.
It’s claimed the player has received ‘concrete requests’ from Levante and especially from the Championship side.
Urie needs to make a decision on whether to continue at Guingamp or make a move elsewhere. The report suggests the ‘trend’ is to go abroad rather than continue at the club.
A move to Levante will see Urie play in the top division, but that likely won’t be the case if he joins QPR.
