Everton are following Anderlecht star Francis Amuzu’s performances ‘closely’ as he continues to shine in Belgium.
That’s according L’Avenir, who say the player is lining up to be an ‘interesting’ player on the transfer market in the future.
Amuzu joined Anderlecht as a youngster from JMG Lier’s academy in 2015 and has steadily risen through the ranks since that point, featuring for their U17, U19 and U21 sides in the last few years.
He was promoted to the Anderlecht first team in January 2018 and has impressed ever since, with 11 goals and 15 assists in 129 games so far.
This season is shaping up to be his best yet, with four goals and four assists in 23 games in all competitions, meaning he has already bettered his tally of two goals and five assists from last season.
At 22-years-old the future is clearly bright, and his performances have reportedly caught the attention of sides in Europe, with L’Avenir reporting that Everton are among ‘several clubs’ who are ‘following his performances closely’.
No offer has been made as yet, and Anderlecht would not let Amuzu go at this moment in time anyway, but that could change in future.
With a profile such as his, it’s felt that Amuzu ‘can bring a fortune’ for Vincent Kompany and co, although that will be dependant on whether he can be a ‘safe bet’ and ‘decisive’ in almost every game.
Whether he can remains to be seen but it appears Everton, and other clubs, will be there watching to see if he does.
