Everton, Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion are all in the race to sign Rodri Sanchez, report Fichajes.

The Real Betis player is currently the subject of renewal talks with his club, and there’s a chance the Premier League sides have been dragged into the picture to encourage Betis to make a bigger effort.

According to the claims, all of Everton, Southampton and Brighton would be ‘willing to pay his release clause’. That amount currently stands at €24m and clearly wouldn’t be a problem for Rafael Benitez’s side if they really want the player.

Southampton and Brighton would likely be able to cover the amount too, although Everton may be the more attractive prospect at this moment in time.

Graham Potter is doing great things with Brighton, however, they may not have the funds to take their project to the next level, and Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Southampton are currently 17th in the Premier League, so a relegation battle is quite possible.

The €24m clause is seen as quite low when it comes to investment from English clubs, and Betis would want to renew the 21-year-old’s contract despite it lasting until June 2024.

That way they can push the €24m much higher, and discourage clubs like Everton, Southampton and Brighton.
