Barcelona allowed Gerard Deulofeu to spend the second half of last season on loan at Watford and the English club signed the forward on a permanent transfer in the summer transfer window.
He’s one of the players who hasn’t featured in the pre-season for the Hornets, along with Stefano Okaka.
The Hornets manager, Javi Gracia sat down with Guillem Balagué for an interview that has been covered by Spanish newspaper AS and the 48-year-old coach explained what is troubling the former Everton loanee and assured he is expected to be back in action “soon”.
“Gerard Deulofeu went on holiday with discomfort in the foot, has followed different treatments, has returned and was fine, but it bothers him. He had a muscle problem, but he will return soon,” Gracia explained.
Watford will face Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal in their next four fixtures before the end of the next month.
The English club’s manager didn’t reveal the date as to when Deulofeu will be back in action, but his comments indicate the player should be fit enough to face Jose Mourinho’s side after the international break.
