Sergio Aguero’s Manchester City contract expires at the end of the season, and the Argentine and his club have announced a parting of ways.
After so long with the Premier League club, becoming a true legend for the Manchester side, Aguero now has the chance of a fresh challenge.
Initially it had been expected that a move back to South America would be on the cards, however, the player is said to feel he can still perform at the very highest level.
Tuesday’s edition of Sport says Aguero wants a move to Barcelona and is prepared to delay things to allow that to happen.
From a Barcelona perspective, they have some interest in the Manchester City player, but would expect him to reduce his wages to fit in with the financial reality at the Camp Nou.
‘There will be an offer’ from Barcelona, according to Sport, yet all the insinuations are it won’t be a big one. Whilst there’s a suggested determination to sign the City legend, they won’t do ‘crazy’ things for him.
Barca’s hope is likely based on tempting Aguero to accept less money but to have the prospect of playing alongside Lionel Messi.
