During the January transfer window, Andre Silva to Wolves was born, and now it will never die.

No, once the Italian sport media have their hands on a rumour they won’t be letting go of it, and Calciomercato run an Andre Silva to Wolves article on Tuesday.

Well, we say article, but this was it: ‘Andre Silva could leave Milan in June. The Brazilian forward of the 1995 class is a goal of Wolverhampton, who will make an attempt in case of a return to the Premier League.’

That’s your lot. If Wolves get to the Premier League they’ll make an attempt to sign Silva.

The 22 year old striker moved to AC Milan in the summer for around €40m and things looked good to start with, but unfortunately it quickly went wrong and he hasn’t managed to score a single Serie A goal.

Silva has, however, scored 6 goals in as many Europa League games, so it’s not all terrible.

Represented by Gestifute, there’s the Jorge Mendes connection with Wolves, which has probably helped the rumour stay alive.

But the January claims were an absolute mess, as we explained at the time, and if Calciomercato’s Tuesday claim is inspired by them, then it doesn’t stand up to much.
