Lucas Bergvall remains confident his move to Tottenham Hotspur ‘won’t leave too much of a void’ at Djurgårdens IF Fotboll, according to Aftonbladet.

The 18-year-old has impressed since joining the Swedish club from Brommapojkarna and it had attracted interest from the European clubs. Tottenham were successful in beating competition from Barcelona for his signature.

Back in February, Tottenham agreed a deal with Djurgårdens for the midfielder to arrive at the Premier League side in the summer.

The summer move to Spurs hasn’t impacted his performances as he continues to shine on the pitch. Bergvall has managed four goals and five assists from 16 games this year, which includes an assist in his side’s 5-0 win over Brommapojkarna on Thursday.

Aftonbladet state the Sweden international has three more games left with Djurgårdens and will then move to the north London club. After yesterday’s tie, Bergvall admitted he’s not concerned about his impending exit from the club.

“I think they will do incredibly well,” he said.

“We have an incredibly good squad with incredibly good players who will come in and deliver when it counts, so it will probably not be a problem.”

The incoming Tottenham player has named Djurgårdens’ Tokmac Nguen as one of the options to take his place.

Bergvall’s teammate Tobias Gulliksen isn’t sure who will eventually replace him but seems to be confident it won’t be a problem for the club.

“I don’t know, you’ll have to ask the coach about that. Maybe me,” Gulliksen explained.

“I like playing with Lucas, it’s very nice. He’s a great player, but there are some new Norwegians who are starting to get in shape so it’s nice that there are many players with qualities.”
