Earlier today, we covered the latest from the Italian newspapers when it came to the Allan to Everton transfer saga.
The general consensus was that the Brazilian was edging ever closer to a move to Goodison Park, with the two clubs a couple of million euros away from finalising an agreement for the transfer, freeing the defensive midfielder in the process.
However, no day finishing with y would be the same without some comments from Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, who had his bit to say about the deal to Kiss Kiss Napoli, relayed by Area Napoli.
He said: “The Brazilian will be an Everton player. There was a metaphorical shaking of hands between Ancelotti and De Laurentiis. The numbers? €30m + €5m. The player will win altogether €4m/year”.
Those are decent numbers, and they are close to what the newspapers were claiming as well, meaning the Everton manager is indeed very likely to be able to count on his former student next season.
We’ll have to wait for it to be official and all that, but when this many outlets and journalists come together on a transfer rumour like this, it tends to be true.
As the saying goes, there’s no smoke without fire.
