Even though Brentford midfielder Mads Bidstrup is expected to return to England following his current loan spell at Nordsjaelland, it seems he’s actually not very keen on that.
That was revealed by the 22-year-old himself in an interview he had with the Danish media this week.
Speaking to Viaplay (via Bold), Bidstrup was asked about a potential move to his former club FC Copenhagen this summer, and claimed he’d actually feel attracted by that scenario.
“There are many things about FCK that are attractive, I think. I have been to the club before, and I know Neestrup, Hjalte and Stefan. I actually know the entire coaching staff they have in there right now.”
“So it will be easy for me to just start up there after the summer holidays, so of course there are some things that make it interesting.”
The Danish player, however, claims not to be in a hurry to get that sorted.
“But it’s too early for me to say whether it will be one or the other. Right now I have to focus on what is going on at FC Nordsjælland.”
Bidstrup joined Brentford’s academy on a move from RB Leipzig back in 2020, and even made his way to the Bees’ first team, but only made 14 appearances for them.
It was in January 2022 that he agreed his loan to Nordsjaelland, and he already has 39 games for the club from his home country.
Now with a chance of returning to Copenhagen, he could fight for bigger things there.
The midfielder is valued by Transfermarkt at €1.5m, and we shall see how much Brentford would request in case of a permanent move.
