There were big expectations when Manchester City signed Marlos Moreno from Copa Libertadores champions Atletico Nacional last summer.

The Colombian winger joined the Premier League club as one of South America’s greatest prospects, but was soon sent to Deportivo La Coruña on loan to make his adaptation to European football.

But after an almost entire season in Spain, the player still hasn’t managed to settle in well, having made 20 appearances without any goals or assists.

That’s why when evaluating all the seven players on loan at Deportivo this season, local outlet La Voz De Galícia makes some heavy criticism of Moreno’s spell.

They first say the Manchester City owned player was troubled by the need to succeed immediately, but then say his ‘wild and anarchic’ football didn’t help either.

Although they claim Deportivo still have the option to extend the loan from Manchester City for one more season, it’s made clear the player hasn’t impressed to date.

An effort from the club to keep him is not something we would expect, but maybe Manchester City can be persuasive.
