Ricardo Rodríguez is expected to leave AC Milan in January and the Serie A side want to bring in a new left-back, who will be a back-up for Theo Hernández.

According to Calciomercato, Stefano Pioli’s side have looked at various candidates, but the one that’s making headway is Wigan Athletics’ Antonee Robinson.

The 22-year-old initially joined the Latics on loan from Everton in 2018 and his move was made permanent before the start of this season. There’s ‘total approval’ at Milan due to his impressive performances, mainly when going forward.

It’s claimed the Championship side are demanding a deal worth €15m, which would include a fixed payment and bonuses.

However, the Italian side find the price for the defender too high and are demanding a ‘significant discount’ for Robinson, whose contract at DW Stadium expires in 2022.

With Robinson considered a player with a lot of potential, Milan would like to bet on him and the game with Wigan has ‘just started’.
