Real Betis CEO Ramón Alarcón has opened the door for Manchester United’s Antony to extend his stay beyond this season.
Alarcón has been speaking to Cadena Ser’s Radio Sevilla and ABC Sevilla have relayed his comments.
The winger saw his game time reduced at Manchester United and wasn’t able to impress when given limited opportunities. His situation at Old Trafford caught the attention of several clubs in the winter market.
Last month, Manchester United allowed the 24-year-old to join Real Betis on loan until the end of this season.
On February 6th, the Brazilian explained he’d had a difficult time with the Red Devils and decided to leave them in the January window. He also revealed there were multiple offers, but the attacker decided to join Real Betis.
The Manchester United man made two appearances for the La Liga side and scored in their 3-2 win over Celta Vigo. Real Betis don’t have an option or obligation to make the South American’s stay permanent.
Alarcón was asked about retaining Antony at Real Betis for next season, and responding to that, he said: “I think so. The other day the CEO of United called me. We sent them all the moves and details of the player throughout the week so that they can see that we are looking after their asset.
“There is very good chemistry with Manchester [United] and with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?”
