Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen should now end up at Brighton & Hove Albion, according to reports from Belgium.
The Netherlands U21 international is currently preparing for the U21 European championship that’ll take place from June 21st. At the same time, his ‘transfer to Brighton is getting closer’.
That’s according to La Dernière Heure, who state the ‘agreement is almost total’ between all parties for the 20-year-old to join the Seagulls.
Even though the stopper is with Jong Orange, it’s claimed his move to The Amex could be formalised ‘this week’. The Jupiler Pro League side are set to receive €20m from his sale and that would be used to make new additions to their squad.
Burnley have also shown interest in the Dutchman and unless they were to make a last-ditch effort, DH state the Clarets are likely to be beaten by Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
Over at Het Nieuwsblad, they say Verbruggen’s sale is ‘almost complete’ and ‘white smoke is expected soon’ for a fee around €20m. They insist Brighton have managed to overcome Vincent Kompany’s side to sign the goalkeeper in the ongoing window.
