Another day, another story about Milan’s interest in Tiemoué Bakayoko, but this one appears a little different, as we might have a deadline for the deal being done.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who explain that talks between the Serie A side and Chelsea are currently ‘intense’ regarding the midfielder’s return.
Bakayoko gave his green light to the move a long time ago, but the newspaper explain the hold up comes from negotiations with Marina Granovskaia, as those are usually filled with ‘precise definitions’.
Either way, there is a belief a deal is very close to being done, with the ‘white smoke’ possibly appearing ‘in a few days’ or ‘next week at most’.
Over at Corriere dello Sport, they explain the hope remains to get Bakayoko at a fee of around €20m, and either get him permanently immediately or putting forward a paid loan with a ‘mandatory option to buy at €22-23m’.
At this point, the midfielder just wants ‘stability’ after two years out on loan, as well as settling in a town and ‘marry a project’.
This appears to be heading in the right direction, and maybe we can put it behind us once and for all.
