With club football getting back to action, there’s some excitement in the Spanish media, where they’re covering Real Sociedad’s trip to face Leeds United in a friendly.
The La Liga side held a press conference on Thursday, in which Ander Guevara spoke about their match against the Whites. And even though that may not be a game that means much, he made it clear that his club have been preparing for it, claiming he’s also eager to play at Elland Road.
“Tomorrow’s game is more important because there is less time before an official game next week, we have to be more and more prepared and in that sense we will go there tomorrow and we hope to play a good game,” Guevara told the Spanish media (via Notícias De Gipuzkoa).
“Today we have seen videos of them. Almost all of us know them because a league like the Premier has very powerful teams. It is a high-level team and there will be a great atmosphere in their field and it will be demanding”.
As both clubs get prepared for the rest of the season, they actually live very different situations in their local competitions.
Leeds stand 15th in the Premier League, and have their upcoming games as a way out of that dangerous zone in the table, trying to get far from any possibility of relegation.
Real Sociedad, meanwhile, are actually having an impressive season, standing only behind Barcelona and Real Madrid so far, and seem to have real chances of getting a place in the Champions League next year.
