Marseille have been trying to sell Duje Caleta-Car for over a year, and that remains the case.

The defender is currently a regular for the Ligue 1 side, but they continue to look towards the transfer market for him, with England getting the most attention.

L’Equipe say Caleta-Car refused a move to West Ham in summer 2020, and did the same with Wolves in 2021, and that Liverpool were rebuffed by Marseille when the Reds made an approach in January 2021.

Some of these claims have been questioned by sources close to the 25-year-old, yet L’Equipe state West Ham have ‘returned to the charge’ for the Croatian in the current winter market.

Wolves and an unnamed third English club are also said to be watching the defender’s situation.

Marseille’s asking price, which isn’t mentioned, is thought to have dropped, given Caleta-Car’s contract expires in June 2023.

Should West Ham or another club manage to complete a deal for the player before the end of the window, then the French side will look to quickly bring a replacement in.
