As Inter Milan’s chase for Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic may be about to collapse, we today see West Ham’s interest in the player being highlighted again.
On Saturday, the Italian media had already claimed that as last minute details were stopping the player from signing for the Nerazzurri, the Hammers joined the battle for his signing.
That’s today said by newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, who write that West Ham’s ‘shadow’ is all over the negotiations.
Inter Milan had an agreement with Udinese for the transfer, as they would pay €4m for the loan and another €16m for the obligatory buying clause. The player even went to Milan for a medical, and told journalists he’d ‘of course’ want to sign for the club.
However, according to Corriere Dello Sport, his father changed terms and asked for more money. Inter Milan don’t want to renegotiate something that was already agreed, and gave the player and his entourage some time to think.
West Ham are just watching the situation, and ‘could put everything back into play’ with a ‘more advantageous package’.
It seems the Hammers are still to move, and may possibly only make their attempt once they get the confirmation that Inter Milan gave up on the signing.
